From May 25 to October 21, 2024, come and marvel at the festivities taking place in and around the Maison Natale de Ronsard, where time seems to dance to the rhythm of the famous poet’s verses.

Mignonne, allons voir si la rose
Qui ce matin avoit desclose
Sa robe de pourpre au Soleil,
A point perdu ceste vesprée
Les plis de sa robe pourprée,
Et son teint au vostre pareil.

Take advantage of this anniversary year to explore this peaceful place, Pierre de Ronsard’s birthplace in Couture-sur-Loir, a 15th-century manor house with troglodytic outbuildings, and recently landscaped Renaissance-inspired gardens.

A Year of Enchanted Events for the 500th Anniversary of Ronsard’s Birth

Pierre de Ronsard, “prince of poets and poet of princes”, gave France great poetry comparable to that of Hugo and Baudelaire. Born on September 11, 1524 in La Possonnière, his talent flourished in the Vendôme region, inspired by the landscape and the teachings of his master Jean Dorat.

We invite you to celebrate Ronsard’s verses and birth through an eclectic program (concerts, shows, exhibitions, hikes, courses and much more) supported by the Communauté d’agglomération Territoires vendômois and numerous private and associative initiatives, (notably on September 11 with the launch of a stamp bearing his effigy). Let’s take advantage of this anniversary to (re)discover the author, his native region and his childhood home.

Favorite Program: Festival o Fil du Loir

The O Fil Du Loir Festival team is a group of twelve volunteers bringing together a variety of talents, including actors, a costume designer, an author, photographers, press officers and entrepreneurs. Hailing from the Loir-et-Cher and Sarthe regions, these enthusiasts with diverse backgrounds are united by their shared love of theater and live performance.

The team is looking forward to introducing you to a dynamic and eclectic repertoire that combines plays unearthed in Avignon, virtuoso baroque music impromptus, mask theater and, as a grand finale, the musical “Jonasz au grenier”.

Masters of ceremonies Armelle Deutsch and Franck Harscouët orchestrate the on-stage performances with talent, as well as the surprise interventions of the “cartes blanches”, a joyful collective of professional comedians who will accompany you with verse, glass and prose, between the different plays, until the Festival closes on June 9.

Immerse yourself in the program for this 2nd edition.
