Whether you are on holiday or simply looking for a pleasant getaway, the Villiers-sur-Loir lake is an invitation to relax.

With its seaside atmosphere, the site offers a wide range of activities for young and old alike: fishing, pétanque, walks along the water’s edge, children’s games, picnic areas and table tennis.
It’s the ideal place to enjoy a convivial moment in the heart of nature.

Water sports play a major role on this 17-hectare lake. On sunny days, young and old alike can try their hand at windsurfing, canoeing, dinghy sailing, paddleboarding, catamaran sailing and pedal boating, or simply enjoy themselves.

Equipment is available on weekends in June and September, then every day in July and August, so you can enjoy the water to the fullest throughout the summer season.

Numerous events are organised at this site, such as the Coteaux du Loir Triathlon and, in 2026, the national gathering of 2CV car clubs (the famous ‘Deudeuche’).

Swimming and relaxing on the supervised beach

Fancy a refreshing and relaxing break surrounded by nature? The Villiers-sur-Loir lake, located between Vendôme and Montoire-sur-le-Loir, is the ideal place for a summer break.

There’s something for everyone in the family: older children can swim peacefully or meet up with friends, while younger ones can have fun at the water’s edge and build beautiful sandcastles. Just a stone’s throw from the swimming area, children can also enjoy wooden games, while their parents play a game of pétanque.

And to satisfy those little hunger pangs, a snack bar is open in season, offering a selection of savoury and sweet snacks.
Everything you need to make the most of the sunny days.

Water activities

For the more athletic, the Néovent association, based on the other side of the lake, offers a range of water sports: canoeing, paddleboarding, catamaran sailing and windsurfing.

In addition to summer activities, the association offers a leisure centre on Wednesdays during term time, as well as weekly during the holidays. The centre offers water and land-based activities in the great outdoors.

Fishing enthusiasts of all ages are not forgotten. The third part of the lake is dedicated to fishing, with regular fishing competitions, including carp endurance fishing. Carp endurance fishing is a competition that takes place over several days, during which the winning fishing team is the one that catches the most ‘kilograms of carp.’
