
The traditional "Fête du biquet", which is held on the last weekend of April, is rooted in a tradition that goes back to the Napoleonic period. At that time and in order to feed his troops, Napoleon had the goats of the village of Essarts requisitioned.
Fête du biquet at Les Essarts. Various activities throughout the day: old tractor parade, activities around the village tufa oven, flea market (booking required). Refreshments and sausages, French fries... 12pm: traditional meal (reservation required, 02 54 72 47 79), including biquet en pot prepared in the village oven, with a folk show by the "Festiloir" troupe from Montoire-sur-le-loir. Musical entertainment in the morning and during the meal by the "La Banda Jean" troupe.
