Rendez-vous "histo" - Voyage en Orient à la Commanderie d'Arville

The Commanderie d'Arville takes you on a journey to the medieval East, with demonstrations and workshops. A re-enactor from the troupe Les Guerriers d?Ibelin presents the equipment used by an archer in the Holy Land in the 12th century. The public is invited to handle the pieces of armor? and even put them on! A minting workshop also features reproductions of coins used during the reign of Baudouin III, King of Jerusalem. The Al-Qafilah duo plunges you into the world of the caravaneers between the Middle East and al-Andalus (Muslim Spain): reconstruction of cooking recipes, discovery of food products, presentation of pharmacopoeia and medical instruments, introduction to the art of equestrian combat (al-Furusiyya).
