The Montoire Festival offers a variety of cultural events including concerts, shows, dance scenes, songs, a craft walk and a typical dinner… also offering a week rich in global cultural diversity.

The Festival celebrates its 53rd edition

from August 11 to 16 2026

Originating from the festival in 1997, don’t forget to take a detour to the Musikenfête museum which is dedicated to traditional musical instruments from around the world. You can also discover the brand new costume museum located in the Augustinian convent.

The history of the festival…

The Montoire Folklore Festival was launched in 1973, inspired by the success of a local flower parade. Since then it has grown to become one of the main folklore festivals in France, attracting around 20,000 visitors each year thanks to 250 volunteers. The event presents traditional dance and music ensembles from five continents, fostering intercultural exchanges and promoting peace and fraternity.

The 53rd Festival will take audiences on a ‘Journey into the Unknown’

True to its spirit of openness, this year’s festival offers a ‘Journey into the Unknown’ by inviting countries that have rarely, if ever, been to Montoire, promising wonderful cultural discoveries.

New Zealand, Sulawesi (Indonesia), Tahiti, Azerbaijan, Uruguay, Slovenia, South Korea, Mexico (Oaxaca), Slovakia and the United States will all feature on the programme. India, the guest of honour, will open the festival at the church in Artins.

International cuisine and entertainment will round off this festive and convivial week: a major exhibition, a children’s village, a craft market, international crafts, workshops, talks…

See you from 11 to 16 August in Montoire-sur-le Loir!
