Whether you’re a keen hiker or just a stroller, plunge into the heart of our varied landscapes: picturesque valleys, rolling hillsides, enchanting vineyards… Here, all the elements are in place for you to discover nature at your own pace and according to your own preferences.

One day of hiking is equivalent to eight days of well-being.

Hiking in Vendômois

Getting a breath of fresh air in the Vendôme region is easy with a hike!

Whether you’re on your own, with family or friends, explore our hiking trails to discover the local heritage. With your walking shoes, a rucksack and a map in your pocket (or a GPX trace on your smartphone for the tech-savvy!), let’s set off to discover our circuits:

–In the Perche region, some forty routes invite you to explore the land of Roussard, the characteristic brown stone of the Perche Vendômois. The Syndicat Intercommunal des Circuits Équestres et Pédestres du Perche has meticulously devised a range of itineraries to suit you, each with its own character, charm and special features.

–In the Haut Vendômois, you’ll find no less than 250 km of signposted walks and hiking trails, listed in a topo guide sold for €1 at Tourist Office reception desks. For many years now, the Office de Tourisme Intercommunal du Perche & Haut Vendômois has organized the Perche & Haut Vendômois hike, departing from Fréteval. This event offers experienced walkers and families alike the chance to explore the Perche & Haut Vendômois countryside, rich in nature and local heritage, on several routes ranging from 6 to 48 km.

-In the Vallée du Loir and Vendômois, you’ll find around 200 km of signposted trails, most of them listed in the Plan Départemental des Espaces, Sites et Itinéraires. A collaborative effort has been made with the Communauté d’agglomération des Territoires Vendômois, the Comité Départemental de la Randonnée du Loir-et-Cher, and the Conseil Départemental 41 to offer you quality circuits.

Discover all our Vendôme trails on IGN Rando – Vendôme Tourisme: on foot, by bike or on horseback. Sunday morning walks

Every August, the “Comité Départemental de la Randonnée Pédestre de Loir-et-Cher” publishes a calendar listing all the Sunday morning hikes organized by local associations. Each club marks out 2 or 3 circuits for the morning, allowing hikers to start between 8 and 9 a.m. at their own pace, after paying the registration fee if they wish to join in the mid-morning snack break. It’s an excellent opportunity to discover new hiking trails off the beaten track every week.
