An exceptional historical patrimony sublimated by water and light.
Discover Vendôme at night thanks to the light trail. From the Tourist Office, you can do the circuit in the direction that suits you. Specific markings with small blue lights fixed to the ground or to street lamps will guide you in discovering the main monuments of the city. This route is modeled on the “At the heart of the city” route, which you can repeat during the day to admire the architectural details.
VENDÔME, CITY OF WATER AND LIGHTS
You will be amazed by the golden and white lights which aim to elegantly reveal the details of Vendôme’s built and plant heritage, in the spirit of the Vendôme brand. A few touches of color highlight emblematic elements such as the Saint-Martin tower or the bell tower of the Trinity abbey, radiating with blue light. Color variations are occasionally visible on the Saint-Jacques chapel depending on the cultural events it hosts.
Animation
To punctuate your walk, go hunting for the dragon of Saint Bienheuré!
At the bend of the circuit, a legendary animal will surprise you! It evokes the memory of a dragon struck down by Saint Blessed. Your challenge if you accept it: find the number of dragons that adorn the illuminated walls (answer by clicking here).
Other fun activities await you:
– a luminous ball projected on the back wall of the main courtyard of the current town hall. This light symbolizes knowledge, recalling that the buildings originally housed a college.
-Near the water gate, in the heart of a grove (if you enter it), the small roundabout of cut hedges has a surprise in store for you, with a random animation of lights on the ground.
